Welcome to Sound Projects

Sound, Noise, Silence, and Music - how do we define them? When we listen to these elements critically, how can we use them in our own work with an awareness of their social and political functions? This course will explore developments in sound art from the early-20th century to the present, to cultivate a critical ear for listening and creating. We will listen to work by artists who have blurred traditional boundaries of music, science, design, fine arts, and philosophy, and read critical writings in cultural studies, sound and media theory.

When Indonesia leaded by Ir Sukarno as the first president of Indonesia, he has slogan “Ganyang Malaysia (Smash Malaysia). It is caused by greed of Malaysia which always take Indonesian Heritage.

The actual issue between Indonesia and Malaysia is Angklung (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angklung). Almost Malaysian people play angklung and several website campaign that angklung is one of the Malaysian Heritage (http://malaysiana.pnm.my/kesenian/Idio_Angklung.htm). I interested in intrument music, all kind of instrument music. Angklung is one of Indonesian heritage. I think it is the social command for Indonesia young generation to tell to people in the world.
